Consider installing solar energy system. Solar heating is in use since a long time. But using solar power for getting electricity is recent invention. They are clean, don’t have any moving part and easy to install. Place them on the rooftop facing south and you will get enough energy to run your home appliances.

If you are considering replacement of roofs, change to glazed tiles. It will deflect the sunrays and keep your room cooler. Use light colored roof tiles.

Install motion detector light sensors in the rooms. It will light only when there is motion and you are safe from unnecessary electricity bills.
