Although the belief that humans are out to kill ourselves by warming the planet through the release of harmful emissions is both popular and trendy, it may not be true. There’s nothing inconvenient about a truth if it makes you famous, rich, and popular again after a failed bid for the Presidency. Still, it’s important to consider all sides of an issue, especially when the toasting of an entire planet is at stake. This includes any arguments that may be incongruent with the modern, popular public opinion.

The global warming scare isn’t the first to be promoted by fringe environmentalists and pseudo-scientists. Previous vilifications of humanity that were moderately successful in creating widespread panic in society include the population explosion scare, the electromagnetic field scare, and even the global cooling scare of the 1970s. As fun as these were to believe and promote, they were each eventually proven to be fanciful. Today’s global warming scare states that due to the release of harmful greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere by human activities, our planet’s atmosphere is gradually retaining more and more heat. The scare states that this heat will slowly cause glaciers to melt, sea levels to rise, living things to wither, and the quality of life on Earth to drastically decrease. Here are three reasons why the global warming issue might be less of a scare and more of a scam.

The Scientific Majority

In simple terms, the first thing that gives us suspicions that global warming might be a scam is that most scientists don’t even believe it. The Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine has, in recent years, issued a petition debunking global warming. The petition states that the scientific evidence for global warming is not convincing enough, and it has been signed by over 17,000 science professionals and climatologists. If you want to find out more about this petition and the skeptical souls who signed it, visit www.oism.org.

The Scientific Data

Global warming advocates assert that the lower troposphere will be one of the first areas of the atmosphere to show credible signs of atmospheric warming. Temperature readings of the lower troposphere were initiated over 20 years ago and have not shown any amount of warming in this area. These readings are congruent with data gleaned from temperature-hunting weather balloons. The only readings that show warming trends are those taken from land-based stations, which are easily affected by heat waves and nearby cities.

Computer Climate Models

Global warming predictions didn’t come from thin air. They were generated, however, not from historical data, but by computer climate models. These models are less like ultra-thin, beautiful women that can see the future and more like sophisticated programs that calculate odds based on a certain set of data. Unfortunately for global warming proponents, these models only predict global warming when the data is greatly exaggerated. These data exaggerations, known as “flux adjustments,” can often amount to as much as nearly 30 times the actual figures. That would be the same as if I had used the number 900 in the previous statement instead of 30.

George Stanzan is an advocate to protect the earth whenever possible but is also a realist. People need to commute and car insurance at Kanetix will allow you to find the most affordable rates, along with products like travel insurance.

We all feel the pressure to reduce waste, reduce our carbon footprint, and take responsibility for the way we affect the environment. The media frequently bombard us with images of melting icecaps, endangered species and clean-up operations following oil spills or other ecological, man-made disasters. While expert opinion remains divided over the extent to which we are to blame for environmental problems, most people have accepted that we need to change our lifestyles and find a more sustainable way to live.

Many of the changes that relate to reducing carbon footprints involve sacrificing comfort or convenience. For example, commuting to work by public transport rather than by car, finding ways to take holidays that do not involve budget airlines, and so on. However, there are adjustments that can be made to our day-to-day lives that are better for the environment and do not involve such sacrifices.

Heating your home with a wood burning stove is an example of one of these improvements. By using a renewable fuel to heat the home, you can reduce or eliminate your consumption of fossil fuels, simultaneously reducing your carbon footprint and your domestic bills. Systems are available which allow you to connect to a boiler and storage heater, meaning the excess heat that your stove produces can be harnessed and used as and when it is required.

Wood burning stoves are much more efficient than traditional open fires, which draw warm air from the room up the chimney and require more fuel to achieve the same heat output. Also, people tend to use coal on open fires, which is not a renewable source.

Once you have your stove, extra efforts can be made to increase the efficiency even further. By ensuring that your wood is sourced locally (avoiding processing and transportation energy consumption) or by collecting and burning wood that would otherwise go to waste, you can reduce the impact that your stove has on the environment.

Trees absorb the same amount of carbon dioxide from the air through photosynthesis when alive as they emit when rotting or burned, as long as the wood is properly seasoned (dried) before being placed in the stove. Furthermore, when wood is left to rot on forest floors, it emits the same amount of carbon as it does when burnt, which means the small amount of gases that escape when well-seasoned wood is burned would be emitted anyway if the wood was left to rot naturally.

By sourcing your wood carefully, your fuel source could be as close to carbon neutral as is possible. That’s good news for you, your home heating bills, and the environment!

GR8Fires is an online retailer of woodburning stoves and multi fuel stoves.

A fuel cell is defined as an electrochemical conversion device which converts energy from fuel into electricity. It has fuel on the anode side and an oxidant on the cathode side. These two react in the presence of an electrolyte and produce electricity. A very big advantage of fuel cells is that they can be used continuously for long durations if the flows are maintained at desired levels.

Scientists are reporting development of a fuel cell that uses pollution from coal and metal mines to generate electricity, solving a serious environmental problem while providing a new source of energy. They describe successful tests of a laboratory-scale version of the device in a new study. So from here we can conclude that fuel cells are environment friendly device as it converts coal and other metal pollution into useful electricity.

The exhaust of the fuel cell is water molecule as hydrogen and oxygen molecule combine during process and concludes to water molecule. Depending on the weather conditions produced steam may rise and form clouds around the road, or it may form fog at the road surface, or it may condense and drop on the road. Even in warm weather water on the road will be dangerous. In freezing weather it will make the road downright treacherous, especially if most or all vehicles on the road are powered by hydrogen fuel cells.

The only problem occurs so far is the generation of large amount of heat as the motor vehicle working on fuel cell technology emitting more heat than other vehicles do. So this is the issue to be debate upon as in next decades the percentage of these vehicles increases leads to increase the temperature of the surroundings and then that of the earth atmosphere but one is for sure that is technology, right now, is in its earlier stage and in near future this problem will be over come by the Engineers.

But with the passage of time the problems will come and then will be overcome as this field is continuously in progress and will lead to great inventions as well as comes up with new facts and discoveries. Fuel cell technology is now applied in automobiles sector like new water car is manufactured and trains are going to crawl on this technology in future. We very well know that most of pollution is been caused by automobiles and if these are working on fuel cell technology then how much amount of carbon dioxide can be removed for atmosphere leads to obsolete the effects of Global Warming.

So now to conclude, for global warming the key ingredients are carbon dioxide and methane and both are not involved in this fuel cell technology as the waste comes out is water molecule and we all know that water is essential for living and that’s why never pollutes the environment. So fuel cell makes no pollution except one that is the generation of excessive heat energy by the automobiles and so it adds little (but that too can be manage) to global warming.

The main cause of global warming is green house effect and the gases involving in green house effect are carbon dioxide, methane, sulphur dioxide and nitrous oxide. These gasses are the playing hazards in recent times and thus result in increasing the temperature of earth.

Natural Resources like carbon dioxide, methane entrap heat in the atmosphere. Methane is obtained from rice paddies, bacteria in bogs bovine flatulence, fossil fuel manufacture and many more such kind of resources. When rice is grown on flooded fields, anaerobic situation build up and the organic matter in the soil decays, releasing methane to the atmosphere. Nitrous oxide, which is a colorless gas with a sweet odour, is another green house gas.

Other cause is deforestation, trees helps in reducing the percentage of carbon dioxide gases during there respiration. So by cutting trees, consumer for carbon dioxide will not be available thus causing increment in the percentage of carbon dioxide and other harmful gases. Facts said about quarter percent of carbon dioxide increases due to burning of wood and coal. Because while burning of wood and coal oxygen is consumed and carbon contents are released in the atmosphere like carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and other carbon contents.

Artificial Resources like emission of gasses through automobiles and industries. These are the major source of producing the carbon dioxide as well as other gasses like sulphur dioxide, nitrous oxide, cars with catalytic converters, the use of fertilizers in agriculture and the burning of organic matter which will further increase the temperature of earth. The percentage of these gasses increased in the recent decades leads to global warming.

Other factor comes in account is the burning of the waste from houses by the sweeper which includes raw waste vegetables scrap and polythenes and other harmful material. This material while burning produces lots of harmful gases like sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxide, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, etc which causes global warming.

City gridlock means traffic lock. As we all are familiar with the traffic jams because of there common occurrence. Survey shows that people stuck in traffic jams never switch of there engines and which leads to consumption of gallons of fuel. This fuel after combustion produces tones of carbon dioxide as well as contents of sulphur oxide and carbon monoxide, which further increases pollution thus leads to global warming.

The tree less plains in arctic and sub arctic which is also known as Tundra is a sink which contains billion tones of carbon in frozen state. This frozen carbon is now begins to convert into carbon dioxide in tremendous amount. This is because of the increasing temperature of earth leads to melting of frozen carbon which further converted into carbon dioxide. This is what we called as man’s biggest blunder to carbon dioxide source alive.

Use of the chlorofluorocarbon product which react with our ozone layer as well as increases the amount of carbon dioxide in atmosphere. This is present in our deodorants and other cosmetics products and some household products. So the products should be banned or should be in limited use.

Global warming will result in the average temperature going up. This will cause sea levels to rise as the glaciers melt. Large areas of occupied land may disappear. Global weather patterns will change. For example, some regions may become prone to deadly storms. Rainfall patterns will change resulting in many areas becoming deserts and others converted into swamps due to excess rainfall. This will affect global agricultural output. Poor areas will experience famines and droughts. Millions may die due to starvation. Certain types of diseases will spread and all the accumulated affects may lead to mass extinction of many animal species.

Due to global warming the temperature of earth atmosphere increases to 2 degree every decade and will go on due to excessive emission of carbon dioxide gas. Leads to melting of polar ice causes invitation to other natural calamities like floods etc and also increases the sea water level. The further increase in the temperature leads to increase in the mean sea level causes engulf the low lying countries across the world.

Effect of global warming can also be seen on the animal kingdom as some animal species become extinct due to the loss of there natural habitat or inability to resist with frequent changes in the climate conditions especially the migratory birds which are seasonal and want colder environment for their survival. These birds help in seeding as well as planting the new trees by there eating habits.

Seasonal conditions are too affected by global warming like now days summers are getting longer than winters and even the rainfall become unpredictable. Now the behavior of monsoons become random as when it is required to have rainfall then there is nothing but when at the time of harvesting of crops, no rain is required then thunderstorms occurs. This also causes floods and other storms like the one in tsunami.

Introduction to new diseases due to global warming as bacteria becomes more efficient and thus replicates in faster rates in warmer temperature. Cold and viral are the two common diseases which transmit in very faster rate due to unpredictable weather conditions. These are called communicable diseases.

Global warming is also effecting the crop production, as the crops are getting destroyed by the sudden change in temperatures or sudden on set of rains. Mid latitude forests will experience decreased rainfall and an increased risk of drought, which in turn would allow forest fires to occur on larger scale, and more regularly. This releases more stored carbon into the atmosphere than the carbon cycle can naturally re-absorb, as well as reducing the overall forest area on the planet, creating a positive feedback loop.

Water scarcity: – Sea level rise is projected to increase salt-water intrusion into groundwater in some regions, affecting drinking water and agriculture in coastal zones. Increased evaporation will reduce the effectiveness of reservoirs. Increased extreme weather means more water falls on hardened ground unable to absorb it, leading to flash floods instead of a replenishment of soil moisture or groundwater levels. In some areas, shrinking glaciers threaten the water supply.
